We are on a mission to empower people living with CKD to take control of their health

We do this by empowering patients by providing a digital toolset to manage the current stage of their kidney disease and making patient-physician interactions more satisfying & efficient. In doing so, we develop new, digital-first approaches to therapy that improve medical outcomes despite being cost-effective for payers.

Mizu lets me feel calm and secure in my daily dialysis routine and relieves me of many questions and worries. Especially the exact information for potassium and phosphate in the nutrition diary is quite something in the Mizu app. Download - try - be amazed!”

The explanation of the significance of individual blood values, such as potassium, helped me a lot. I was also able to expand my horizons about different offers for dialysis patients. Super app, especially suitable for dialysis beginners.”

Tino (52)

The daily use of Mizu has supported me for quite some time: The logbook with the relevant values, the medication plan with reminder function and the nutrition diary with an extensive food database and nutritional values, that cannot be found anywhere else. All in one app - amazing!

Through a more conscious diet with Mizu, I have managed for the first time that my blood values have not worsened and I can keep my kidney values constant as a result. Highly recommended!”

By accurately tracking my meals in the food diary, I have learned to better estimate the amount of potassium in foods. This allows me to better adjust my eating behavior throughout the day. Using the app has made it much easier for me to manage my disease.

Frequently asked questions

Can I recommend Mizu to all my CKD patients?
Yes, Mizu supports all CKD stages, from pre-dialysis, to dialysis and transplantation. As the user's CKD stage changes, so will app content and functionality. This means for example that the app provides new knowledge content for each CKD stage and recommendations in the food diary are adapted according to respective medical guidelines in prevention, dialysis or transplantation.
Which functions does Mizu offer?
Mizu guides your CKD patients to take charge of all their daily tasks related to kidney health. In doing so, patients can track vital & lab parameters in their logbook, or add their complete medication plan and automate intake reminders. Mizu also contains a CKD-specific food diary with personalized nutrient breakdowns, as well as tons of medically validated educational resources with tips & tricks for the daily life with CKD.
Aren’t most of my patients too old to use an App?
Definitely not! Especially in recent years, the affinity of older generations toward smartphones and wearables has increased significantly. The best proof of that are our thousands of Mizu users, who already use Mizu as a helpful companion for managing their everyday life and as an advisor for all questions related to their CKD.
How does Mizu handle patient data?
Mizu adheres to strict data privacy rules, safely encrypted data transfer and all of its data is stored in certified servers within the EU. Furthermore, Mizu will not pass on patient data to third parties, unless users explicitly give consent to do so in the app (e.g., sharing vital parameters with their physician).
What features are you planning for Mizu?
We are currently working on a series of exciting tools to further support individuals with CKD and make patient-physician interactions more satisfying. Sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with our medical roadmap and to find out more about what’s coming in the near future.
